I am Remarkable

I am Remarkable

What is "I am Remarkable"? We could say it is a workshop, we could call it a movement or an initiative... instead we will name it for what it really was: an opportunity that our Partner Google offered us and that we took up with confidence and with, let's be honest, very little idea of what it would be and what it would bring.

But let's take it in order, explaining what it is about, and then end by telling how we experienced it.

I am Remarkable is a global movement that empowers everyone, including underrepresented groups, to celebrate their achievements in the workplace and beyond, challenging the social perception associated with self-promotion.

All of us, sooner or later in our working lives, would have liked to find the courage and the way to say out loud "I am good at this", but celebrating oneself is often interpreted as arrogance. This workshop invited us to break this convention, to learn to say I am Remarkable with pride and self-confidence.

We at Open Gate experienced it as a moment of sharing, which allowed us to discover new things about our colleagues... and we come out of this experience a little more motivated and more aware of who our desk neighbor is.

We thank Google, in the person of Elena Grazi, our facilitator, who guided and accompanied us through this morning of sharing.

We also thank everyone at Google who made this initiative possible: Myriam Gottschalk (our patient guardian angel, without whom we would be lost at the mercy of ourselves!) and also the marketing team Luca Belgio and Giulia Cecchetti, of course Antonella Bolognesi, promoter of the movement for Google Italy and, last but not least, Daryoush Goljahani, Head of Alliances & Channel Sales.
